Newcomer Culmer takes sixth, Minnis barely misses 100 final

Multi-event specialist Devilus Culmer placed sixth in the men’s 400m event in 52.34 seconds to open his season at The T-BirdFlyers meet Friday night at the Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Stadium. Sprinter George Minnis ran the 100m heat in 11.31 seconds and placed ninth overall. He did not advance to the final as the top eight advanced to the final. The meet continues Saturday with Mingoes competing in the 200m, 800m, javelin, discus and 4x400m relay.
