Mingoes compete at STU Under the Lights

The University of The Bahamas men 's track and field team got some podium finishes in their final international competition Friday at the St. Thomas University's Under the Lights meet in Miami Gardens. Florida.
Kendall Cooper tossed the javelin for 49.34 meters (m) (161' 10") to finish second in the men's javelin. Rashad Evans was also in that event and finished fifth with a toss of 42.82m (140' 6").
"We could have done a bit better but due to certain conditions, we did not perform to the best of our abilities. We came out and did our best," Cooper said.
Lhevinne Joseph ran 49.10 seconds to finish second place in the men's 400m dash.
"I ran differently than usual. I am not the guy to reach the 200m first but I was the first to the 200m this time. It was a good race overall but I did not run the time I wanted to run," Joseph said.

The men's 4x400m relay team of Joseph, Rashaa'd Farquharson, Jackson Ozias and William Minors settled for second place after stopping the clock on 3:27.94.Jackson Ozias placed sixth in the men's 800m run after stopping the clock on 2:05.08. Minors was eighth in that race in a time of 2:06.59.
George Minnis and Farquharson were in action in the men's 100m. Minnis clocked 11.33 seconds to finish 19th overall and Ferguson ran 11.45 seconds to place 21st overall.
