Corbin wins shot put again

The University of The Bahamas Mingoes men's track and field teams competed in it's final local track and field meet at the 19th Dianna Lynn Track and Field Classic hosted by the Roadrunners Track and Field Club Saturday at the Thomas A. Robinson Track and Field Stadium. 

Samuel Corbin secured his third consecutive victory in the under-20 boys shot put event this season. The freshman tossed 12.44 meters (m) (40-9 3/4). He was back in action in the under-20 boys discus throw. He settled for a fourth-place finish with a throw of 27.37m (89-6 3/4).

Jackson Ozias powered his way to a personal best of 2:00.61 for a second-place finish in the open men 800m. William Minors won his heat in the under-20 boys 800m in 2:02.98. He was third overall.

Dennis Williamson ran 49.41 seconds to finish second in the men open 400m.

Rashaa'd Farquharson and George Minnis finished fifth and sixth place respectively in the open men 100m. Farquharson clocked 11.10 seconds while Minnis clocked 11.16 seconds. Minnis finished third in the men 200m heat after running 23.14 seconds. He was tied for seventh overall.

The open men 4x400m relay team featured Ozias, Williamson, Farquharson and Minors. They placed second in 3:23.96.
