Mingoes notch 4-1 win against Future Stars

The University of The Bahamas men's soccer team were up 4-1 at the half when the winless Future Stars F.C. decided to forfeit the match in the Bahamas Men's Soccer League (BMSL) action Sunday at the Roscow A.L Davies Soccer Fields.
The match was called off during the half as Future Stars elected to forfeit the game with 45 minutes left to play.
Scoring the goals for UB were captain Ronaldo Green, Kevin Thomas and Nahum Johnson who chipped in with two goals.
Green said that his team started off slow and was able to pick it up.
"We went down 1-0 but right away, the momentum and attitude are what we need in the team," Green said. "That helped us to be victorious today and as you can see, we ran them until they can't run anymore and they had to stop playing because they know what was going to come next."
UB got caught off guard by Future F.C. after they struck blood first in the 14th minute for the early 1-0 lead. Thirteen minutes later, UB's captain Ronaldo Green kicked the ball through the goalkeeper's legs and tied the game at a goal apiece. He has a league-leading nine goals.
Nahum Johnson found the back of the net in the 33rd minute to give UB the 2-1 lead. Johnson was not finished yet as he scored four minutes later to give UB a 3-1 lead.
"I am just getting back into my element as a striker by making my runs, scoring my goals and making my passes," Johnson said.
Kevin Thomas put the icing on the cake for UB with a gift just before the half to give UB the 4-1 lead.
It was UB's sixth consecutive victory in the BMSL as they sport a 6-0 win/loss record heading into the new year. As a team, UB has scored 33 goals and conceded just three goals in those six games.
UB heads back to the pitch to face Baha Junior F.C at 6.45 p.m. January 11, 2026 at the Roscow Davies Soccer Fields.
