MIngoes open tourney with win
The University of the Bahamas women's volleyball team kicked off the Battle of The Islands volleyball tournament with a 2-0 win over GB Hawks at the Eight Mile Rock Gymnasium in Eight Mile Rock, Grand Bahama.
UB jumped out to a 11-7 lead to start the first set. They eventually won 21-16.
It was a slow start for UB as they went down 9-5 in the second set. Strong serving a resilient defense saw UB taking the 16-15 lead. UB won the set 21-17. The win gave them two sets as they look to win the group.
Their second match which is against Abaco Alpha is set for later tonight.
