UB drops to Panthers in three sets

The University of The Bahamas Mingoes lost to the Panthers in three sets: 25-21,25-21,25-11, in New Providence Volleyball Association action Thursday at D.W. Davis Gym.

Outside hitter Hannah McBride with five points including four kills, and an ace and captain Anjeniker Joseph along with outside hitter Patrice Ferguson with three kills each. Newcomer Alexandria Pinder had four points including two kills and two aces.

Head coach Raymond Wilson said he has a very young team that needs to adjust to pressure quicker.

"They played a good volleyball game but they need to learn how to keep the fire and when pressure comes on how to deal with pressure," he said. "We tend to fall to when a little pressure comes on and we really don't take advantage of the opportunities that we have such as a six or eight point lead."

The Mingoes now sport an 0-2 record on the season.

For the Panthers, Janelle Curtis had twelve points including ten kills, an ace and a block.

The Mingoes next play LTEC 3:30 p.m. Sunday October, 2025 at The D.W. Davis gym.
