Mingoes come up short against Warhawks
The University of The Bahamas women's volleyball team fell in three straight sets to the Warhawks Tuesday, January 14 at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium.
Mingoes fell 25-16, 25-6 and 25-17 in their second game in the UB Volleyball Showcase.
The first set saw Mingoes going into a 6-1 hole early. They were able to pick it up later in the set with the Warhawks leading 16-11. The Warhawks went on to win that set 25-16.
Mingoes never got comfortable in the second set as the Warhawks jumped out to a 12-5 lead. The Mingoes had a tough ending to the set as the Warhawks went on a 13-1 run to seal the 25-6 victory them. Warhawks led 2-0.
The third set got underway with the teams keeping it close but the Warhawks leading 11-9. That Warhawks lead went to 20-13 before UB's head coach, Raymond Wilson called a time out. The Warhawks went on to win the set 25-17 to sweep the Mingoes 3-0.
UB returns to action 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 21 against Midnight Aces at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium.
