UB Golf played 14 Golf Academy in a 9-hole best ball format over the weekend at The Royal Blue Golf Club.

The Mingoes won a few holes but didn't win a match and lost 10-0 overall.

Alex Gibson and Kaden Knowles lost 5-4 to Camden Forbes and Angelino Cooper in the most competitive match of the series.

Zara Major and Thadia Simms lost 5-0 to Mia Underwood and Mimi Rgojvokich.

Johnathan McLain and Tenaje Charlow lost to Andrew Benjamin and Patrick Farquhason 5-0.

Travis Cartwright and Kirkwood Farquhason lost to Christopher Callender and Rhan Miller 5-0.

Patton Hayes and Simone Rolle lost to Gabrielle Pratt and Taylor Sands 5 -1.

In this format each player on the team plays their own ball throughout the hole and the team uses the lowest score on the hole. The team with the lowest score on each hole wins the hole.

Coach Fredrick Taylor said he was impressed with the team's play as they took on a seasoned team and The Mingoes have been showing improvement as such a young team.  

The Mingoes play again in about three weeks.
