Mingoes' winning streak stops at three
The University of The Bahamas Mingoes women's softball team gave up 15 runs at the top of the first inning and never recovered to fall 22-3 to the R&B Operators in the New Providence Softball Association (NPSA).
The Operators came out swinging at the Bankers' Field as the Mingoes defense had no answer as the Operators poured in 15 runs to set the tone of the game.
Centerfielder, Nabria Hamilton who finished the game pitching, finished 1-for-1 and came home once to score the first run for the Mingoes. Also picking up a hit for the Mingoes was third baseman Raevyn Bethall who went 1-for-2 on the night.
Leading the way for the Operators was second baseman Aliyah Ferguson who went 3-for-3 and had two runs batted in.
Hamilton is one of three Mingoes to be selected to the NPSA All-Star team. The other three are Solana Brown, Adonya Stanislaus and Syazha Kelly. That game will be played on Saturday, August 3 at 7 p.m.
The Mingoes will return to action after the All-Star break. The date and opponent will be announced at a later date.
