Mingoes XC wins Roadmasters Half relay

The University of The Bahamas men's cross-country trio secured the victory in the 2025 Roadmasters Half Marathon relay Sunday in north west New Providence.
The trio of Jackson Ozias, Lhevinne Joseph and Kenold Jean clocked an overall time of 1:22:54 and finished with a pace of 6:20 per mile. The UB ladies team of Najihah Mortimer and Marquell Newbold were the only competitors in the women's relay category and they finished with a time of 2:07.29.
Ozias started off the real for UB with Joseph running second. Jean took the trio across the finish line.
"I went out hard and kept the pace," Ozias said. "I just brought it to the second runner and my plan was to watch out for the other relay runners and keep them as far as possible.
Joseph ran the second leg this time around and said that the pace was better.
"We knew where we were going," Joseph said. "We had the lead from the start. It was a good race and I enjoyed it. Ozias passed me the baton when we were in first place. The Royal Defense Force had some good runners and because I had the lead already, I just needed to manage the race."
Jean was happy with the position that Ozias and Joseph gave him.
"We planned to came in to win," Jean said. "I finished strong and helped the team to finish first in the half marathon relay."
The UB ladies team of Najihah Mortimer and Marquell Newbold were the only competitors in the women's relay category and they finished with a time of 2:07.29.
Finishing second in the relay was the Royal Bahamas Defense Force Tridents in 1:28.48 while Rolle Parker Musgrove placed third in 1:37.59
Also participating in the 5K run portion of the event was UB's men's head coach, Bacchus Rolle.
UB athletes will now get ready for the 2026 track and field season that gets underway in January.
