Mingoes finish third in Knockout Cup

The University of The Bahamas Mingoes men's soccer team were looking to bounce back from a devastating loss in their last outing with a third-place clash Insurance Management Bears F.C in the Bahamas Men's Soccer League Knockout Cup, Sunday at the Roscow A.L. Davies Soccer Fields.

UB warmed up and were ready to play but head coach Alex Thompson alerted the team that the game was forfeited by Bears who had insufficient players to start the game.

"Its definitely disappointing based off the last game that the team played," Thompson said. "We wanted to come out and get soem retribution. A win is a win and finishing third is a great feeling. Our ultimate goal was to make the final and sadly we did not make that goal."

The forfeit by Bears gave UB a 3-0 walkover victory and third place in the Knockout Cup tournament.
UB also finished third in BMSL Division One play as their 2024-2025 season ends.
