Mingoes storms back to 2-2 draw
The University of The Bahamas men's soccer team came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against the Grand Bahama Soccer Club at the YMCA Soccer Field in Grand Bahama Freeport.
Head coach, Alex Thompson said that it was the worst start that they could have possibly had.
"We had We made some adjustments and moved Ronaldo (Green) a little higher and changed the shape of the team. We also went more direct, and the game opened for us," Thompson said.
Striker Ronaldo Green scored both goals for the Mingoes to salvage the draw to help them get the draw.
Green scored his first goal in the 40th minute in the run of play with a well-placed shot to the right of the goal. The Grand Bahama Soccer Club led 2-1 at the half.
Ten minutes into the second half, Green calmly put away a penalty kick to tie the game up at 2-2 in the 55th minute.
The Mingoes had several chances to put the game away but did not find the back of the net.
The second game of their two-game series starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 5 at the same location.
