Mingoes edge Future Stars 3-2 in crucial win
Missing a few key players to injury and suspension, the Mignoes were shorthanded in their final game of the season and managed to pull out a crucial 3-2 victory against Future Stars F.C. at the Rowcow A.L. Davies Soccer Fields. The win put a solid hold on second place in the Bahamas Football Association (BFA) senior men's league.
Stanley Grand Pierre found the back of the net twice in the first half to give the Mingoes a 2-1 lead at the end of the first half. Future Stars got the equalizer in the 68th minute. The Mingoes were awarded a penalty in the 85th and striker Peter Julmis calmly got the separation goal on the penalty kick to put his team up 3-2.
The Mingoes sit three points ahead of Renegades F.C. who has one game remaining but the Mingoes has a 20-plus goal difference.
