Mingoes winning ways back on track with win over Seventeen FC
The University of The Bahamas Mingoes bounced back this weekend. After dropping two straight matches in Bahamas Football Association action, the side put up a convincing 4-2 win over Seventeen FC Sunday at the Roscow A.L. Davies Field
The league's most prolific scorer Ronaldo Green connected for three goals in the 18th, 43rd, and 75th minutes of the match. Rasean Rolle got on the books with a goal in the 84th minute to seal the win.
Green has 14 goals on the season through seven matches heading into this week. Johnny Tinus from United FC has 14 goals as well but over eight matches
Midfielder Green struck first in the match in the 18th minute off a pass from Rolle.
Seventeen FC though responded quickly with goals in the 34th and 36th minutes to go up 2-1 on The Mingoes.
Before the interval, Green came back to tie the match off a pass from Rodian Lamour in the 43rd minute. The Mingoes headed into halftime tied 2-2.
Out of the interval, The Mingoes applied heavy defense on Seventeen and kept them out of their half for much of the second half.
Green though wasn't finished scoring. In the 75th minute, Green connected with the net for his third goal of the day and put the Mingoes up 3-2.
Striker Rasean Rolle wanted his name on the scoresheet and found the net on a brilliant shot in the 84th minute to secure the win for The Mingoes 4-2 and put them at 6-2 on the season.
"At first we didn't play up to standard because of a new formation that we have in place and we had to take time to adjust," Green said. "But I think we eventually came out and played the game that the coaches wanted us to play."
Rolle who finally got on the scoresheet said he was happy for that and that the team is now performing well. "I think we played really hard out there today," he said. "I finally got myself on the scoresheet and it felt good for us to be back to winning."
The Mingoes next play Dynamos 7pm Sunday December 11th at The Roscow A.L. Davies Field.
