It was a long three-day but the University of The Bahamas Mingoes senior men's golfer Travis Cartwright was in action in the 2026 Bahamas Golf Federation Senior National Golf Championship.
Cartwright placed 37th overall after finishing with a total score of 95 over-par 311.
"Managing your mental ability and staying focused are probably the hardest things to do over the course of the three days," Cartwright said. "The three rounds over the course of three days is difficult, but it's definitely an excellent learning experience for anybody who's getting into golf or pursuing golf as their athletic career."
His best round came in the second round at the Ocean Club Golf Course when he shot 27 over-par 99. He was able to par holes three and 13.
The final day saw him putting up a fight and finishing 32 over-par 104 at the Royal Blue Golf Course at Baha Mar. His toughest outing was at Albany Golf Course that saw him shot 36 over-par 108 to start off the three rounds.
"There's a lot of room to work on," Cartwright said. "There are a lot of things to work on. And it also taught me that golf is not something that you get good at even within four years. Golf is a lifetime commitment that you have to put all of your energy and focus into."
Cartwright graduates from UB in May of this year.
