Cartwright secures top spot in President’s Cup
The Mingoes men's golf team was action in the Bahamas Golf Federation's President's Cup with Travis Cartwright coming out on top in the men's regular division this past weekend.
Playing at the Royal Blue Golf Course at the Baha Mar Resort, Cartwright finished with final score of 69 Stableford points after the two rounds that played on Saturday and Sunday. His 69 points were tied for first across all divisions.
He had a stronger second round on Sunday when he scored 33 points. He scored 36 points in the first round.
Also, in action for the Mingoes men's team in that division were Johnathan McClain Darrius Thompson. McClain finished just outside the top-three in fourth position with 53 points and 23rd overall. Thompson was tied for fifth with 50 points and 27th overall.
McClain had a strong first round with 36 points and 17 points in the second round. Thompson started off with 33 points in the first round then finished the competition with 17 points.
Terrance Elliot was in the men's mid-amateur division and placed seventh. He finished with 10 points after scoring six points in the first round and four points in the second round. Elliot was 39th overall.
