Bio
Bacchus Rolle has been the Head Coach of the University of the Bahamas Mingoes for seven (7) years. He took over a program that was struggling with identity and turned it into a respectable program. Three members of the Mingoes program have represented The Bahamas on the men’s National Team: Kemsy Sylvestre, Ramon Dames, and Robert Joseph.
Prior to coaching at the University, Coach Rolle was the Assistant Coach, Evangelical High School in South Carolina (1990-1991); Head Coach of his high school alma mater Kingsway Academy, Nassau, Bahamas (1997-2000), and Head Coach of The Reddies, New Providence Men’s Basketball League (2007-10)
Coach Rolle represented the men’s National Team on numerous occasions and played in local basketball recreational leagues such as the New Providence Basketball Association, Government League and Church League.
Coach Rolle was a four-year varsity athlete in men’s basketball at the College of Charleston, Charleston, South Carolina. He graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor Degree in Philosophy and Political Science. He is currently the Member of Parliament for the South Beach Constituency. He is also a vestry member of St. Ambrose Anglican Church, and holds active membership in One Family Junkanoo Organization, Lodge St. Michael 1634, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
He is married to Kimberley and have two sons Dionysius and Derryus.
